Trailers: Films To Look Out For

Here's a list of the newest trailers for films coming soon to the big screen. I'd like to point out many of these films yet again lack diversity in casting.

Stronger

Coming out this September, Stronger is a drama inspired by 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing survivor Jeff Bauman's life, who loses both legs in the devastating event. Bauman is played by incredible Jake Gyllenhaal and if Gyllenhaal and Tatiana Maslany spark good chemistry in this biopic, I believe we may even see this film in the Oscars.

If you like this check out Angelina Jolie's: Unbroken (2014)

Battle of the Sexes

Battle of the Sexes is also inspired by true events, it tells the story of a tennis match played in 1973 between World number one Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

It will be coming out this October.

Here's some footage from the real match.

Listen to Beyond the Trailer's Grace Randolph's reaction.

Goodbye Christopher Robin

I am not a big fan of Margot Robbie's work and she seems to be more of a filler than a main character in this film but growing up, Winnie the Pooh was one of my favourite cartoons ever so I am curious to see its creator A. A. Milne's life. Meanwhile, Disney is making another Winnie the Pooh film, starring Ewan McGreggor!

Wonder

Adapted by Raquel Jaramillo's novel of the same name, Wonder is about a boy called August Pullman with facial birth defects. When he starts elementary school, he has to overcome his differences and remind others that he is, like them, just a kid. Starring Owen Wilson, Julia Roberts and Room's Jacob Tremblay, the film seems to be a must-see family movie.

To the Bone

Lily Collins plays Ellen, an anorexic girl who gets admitted to rehab to battle her eating disorder.

I do not know how Keanu Reeves is in this film, but I do like to see him in drama once in a while.

There was some drama about the film on the internets apparently; people thought the eating disorder was depicted wrongly and influenced young women to romanticise it or something, but I do believe eating disorders should be addressed correctly and brought into the light by filmmakers. I do not know how the film will turnout, but to call it 'triggering' right of the bat is not something I would do. There is nothing romantic about a person who starves themselves to death and ends up in a hospital battling for their life.
